So far I am impressed with the Wii. The sleek white style of the console and it’s accessories are quite similar to Apple products. It took a while to set up the internet connection - maybe because the Wii Shop hasn’t been set up properly. The manual setup is pretty easy as I put everything in place in less than 5 minutes - the sensor bar, the wiimote, nunchuk, AV cable and the power adaptor.
The user interface is pretty cool - simple and clean. Wii channels are organised into grids. The only downside about the Wii software is that there is no keyboard input at the moment. Hopefully nintendo will add that in since they have allowed two usb ports. The lack of technological advancement was already expected, so it didn’t really matter. All I wanted the most out of Wii is the gameplay - not the graphics and not the sound.
Wii Sports game was bundled with the Wii console. 5 types of games are included - Tennis, Boxing, Baseball, Golf and Bowling. Tennis, Bowling and Baseball was pretty easy to control, but it took a while for me to get the timing right. I found it rather difficult to control the wiimote for boxing and golf. Overall the games are quite fun to play with, but I thought the levels were too limited in the training mode.
Finally I am pleased to get my share of the Wii experience… The photos from the launch are in the gallery.
