The year is ending soon, so I thought it would be a good time to reflect..
1. The most exciting thing this year is the transition from study to work. It’s fun working at the water company. I have learnt and experienced a lot working there - not just GIS stuff but also interacting with others, how water and sewer systems work and what it means to work within a team. I hope to stay there a little longer and learn a little bit more before I move on.
2. Buddhism - I am not a very religious but rather spiritual. I joined SGI back in August to study Buddhist philosophy and to use it in my life. Since I joined the organisation, I have become a happier person and chanting enabled me to reflect on my past actions and to renew my determination to confront my hardships and struggles.
3. The Honda Jazz - As the Ford Festiva was getting old, I started to wonder if it would break down on my way to work. So back in June, my father lent me some money to get the Honda Jazz. The Jazz is a great car and it’s very efficient with fuel (I only needed to use $20 a week for petrol). The only thing I was disappointed with was there was no mp3 support in it’s audio system. I gotta get an FM transmitter for that.
4. Steph’s engagement - I guess I was a little surprised when she announced her engagement back in July and that her wedding was going to be in Jan 08 instead of Jan 09. I hope Steph and Tenn are happy together and I wish them all the best for the next part in their relationship.
5. My bro’s wedding - It was a little awkward since I didn’t know two thirds of the guests but it was nice to see them getting married.
