Human life is indeed wondrous. You may be ill physically, but as long as your mental state is strong, it most certainly will exert a positive influence on your body. There may be no better remedy than hope.
From Ikeda Quotes
This quote reinforces the themes and topics inherent in Nichiren Buddhism. Despite our negative circumstances, whether it would be physical sickness, financial challenges, work/study difficulties or struggles in relationships, as long as we have the vow for kosen rufu (world peace through happiness in humankind) and as long as we believe in our potential to overcome such challenges, nothing is impossible. I guess this confidence and faith is what drives us to improve ourselves and become a better person. In turn, gain confidence and faith by chanting the daimoku and performing the gongyo daily. While it seems absurd, by focusing on the rhythms and the echoes of each word in the prayers, it can calms us down and allows us to reflect on our thoughts and actions. After chanting and performing the gongyo everyday, I feel refreshed and my faith in the unlimited potential of everyone grows even stronger.
