my 2 cents on Corby

Two days ago, Schapelle Corby was sentenced to 20 years of prison in Indonesia. I don’t know if she’s innocent or not, but if she’s guilty, then 20 year’s imprisonment isn’t that bad…. But if she’s innocent then Indonesia should compensate and make a formal apology..

I am going to take a break from blogging to get my assignments out of the way and to focus on my upcoming exams which go from 13-22nd June.

Also, I would like to congratulate a friend who got into the Manhattan School of Music.

And lastly, I would also like to say good luck to all my friends who are doing exams for the next few weeks.

Tonight, I will be going through my last few hours as a teenager before I change my first digit from a one to a two. In some ways I feel old already. It freaks me out that I will graduate next year and that a quater of my life had already been taken away from me.

I want to enter the HP contest!

Scholastic, the American publisher for Harry Potter books has released a contest, requiring contestants to why a 300 word essay on “Why I love reading Harry Potter”. I so want to enter it and I can think of thousands of different reasons why I really like the series and conscisely put it together in logical structure in 30o word. I can even give up getting HDs at uni just to enter the contest. But unfortunately, I can’t enter because I am too old and I am not a US resident.

I hate it when there are age restrictions! I understand why they have it for the Casino, gambling, driving licences and alcohol purchases but I don’t understand why they have it for this.

Typical student life in May

I haven’t been blogging a lot on the net rectently as the final pieces of assignments and presentations are taking up most of my time. Yesterday, most stressful presentations finished and over and done with and it was my first solo presentation that I’ve done since year 12. I kept practising and practising for it and tried not to look at the “cheat” script, but I ended up reading off it and had read out the wrong slide. Maybe if I did literature or arts and my topic was about Harry Potter, I would have been better. Anyway, I am glad that that’s over and I shall not think about it anymore (although I tend to worry).

Now, I still have a 3000 word assignment to complete and a field trip report, as well as the 5 exams that I have later on. Whenever I have time to procrastinate, I plan for my next trip to Hong Kong, which is this coming December.
