Last Summer

Last summer,
I stayed in Melbourne,
while some of my friends
went back home,
and some went away.

But I was left in Melbourne,
and stayed and worked,
many hours a day,
earning a few pennies per hour.

Despite the job was getting too tough.
I endured and endured
Till I earned enough
Just to save for my coming studies

But one day, while I parked,
I crashed into someone’s car,
but it was six months ago
that I had almost forgotten.

After six months of ignorance
I receive an email,
asking me to repay the damages
that I once had done

I was to pay eight-hundred.
But I paid in full
so that she won’t call me a fool.

Before then, I had a pocket full of savings
but now only left,
with a few pennies

Till elsewhere my minds are set
It was a summer that I won’t forget,

This is what I do when I procrastinate. I find difficulties expressing myself, especially when I speak, my voice softens and I tend to mumble a lot. I am not good at personal writing, but I came up with this.

Autumn heat

I thought we are in the middle of Autumn in Melbourne where the weather should be cool and windy, probably cold at night. But it seems that the weather is getting warmer these days, with 30 degrees today. There is even a total fire ban today. The summer period must have shifted one month later because I remembered it was still cold in December.

Maybe its global warming, maybe El Nino. But who cares? I prefer the heat!

Hey, that wasn’t bad, but I probably expected a higher score.

Howl at the Moon

First thoughts: Nice, cool music, but a bit dim (I’d prefer to eat in a brighter environment)

Food:
The Howling wings tasted beautiful - the blue cheese dip was my favourite. The Caesar salad was ok, there wasn’t anything special about it, but I wished the chicken was sliced into bits and tossed with the other ingredients. The mixed grill was ok, but it wasn’t what I’d expected - the Porterhouse steak was very thin and it was cooked too well that it was burnt at the edges. Other things in the mixed grill were pork sausage, bacon, lamb and fries. The lamb was the only meat that I liked in the dish. It was perfectly cooked so that it was not burnt, enough for me to suck the juices out of the meat.

Cost: $20 per head.

Winza’s rating: 6.5 out of 10.

It is quite expensive, so I’d probably recommend it as a one-off occasion. I wouldn’t go for the Mixed grill the next time I go, but the Howling wings are a must-have.
