Here was the problem:
Shuffle unmounted itself automatically during song transfer in itunes.
After restart and plugging my shuffle in, i tried to restore the software back onto the ipod, but it unmounted again, leaving the ipod installer to freeze.

I am very disappointed with Apple..
My ipod is not working - flashing green light.
I have tried deinstalling and then reinstalling it
Still doesn’t work
There seems to be a problem with the software itself!!!
Please help!
